Artist Spotlight - Tara Collingwoode

Welcome to Artist Spotlight, once a month we pick an artist who's work stands out to us as something really special. And then ask them a few questions.

This month our artist is Tara Collingwoode. A London based film photographer and creative who runs two fantastic Instagram accounts, working with some of dreamiest babes in the gram 'biz and is also a creator for Girl Gaze. We love Tara's work for it's authenticity and ability to make you feel the mood of the shot through the screen. With a stunning mix of modern-meets-vintage vibes to her images, she oozes talent and we can't wait to see what amazing things she'll be getting up to in the future!

Take a look through some of the images Tara has picked to share with us and read our interview!

Hi Tara! First off, how are you?

Hiya! I'm really good, i have nothing to complain about, especially during a pandemic haha.

When was the moment you decided to create endoffilm? and why?

So i was harassed by one of my good pals to start endoffim and i remember taking a week of work to relax but instead of relaxing i created endoffilm. I sometimes have moments when i'm really impulsive.

Honestly, i started it just to post random film shit and not to become a photographer AT ALL...am i allowed to swear?

(yes you are allowed to swear)

How does shooting film photos make you feel compared to digital?

Film literally gives me life!! The colours, the vibe, the grain, the fact you can't see the images back. I respect Digital but i feel as though being able to preempt what the images will look like spoils it for me.

Do you have a favourite photo and if so what's the story behind it?

I love all my images but one of my favourite is my shot of 4 girls outside a chinese takeaway. It looks so bad ass and the lighting...ugh!!

Story behind it was i arranged a shoot for London girls so i could showcase the fashion and awesomeness of the ladies who live in LDN

Do you have a dream place/event/brand you want to shoot?

Dream place: Paris on a winter night

Event: maybe a festival or Behind the scene shots for the Arctic monkeys lool

Brand: hmmmm Converse or Doc Martens or NIKE!

Can we expect any exciting projects from endoffilm in the future?

YES! I'm shooting an EP cover which is the closest i've got to shooting an album cover hahaha one day hopefully!

Fun question! 3 desert island items.

Oh damn...ummmmmm....

1) a picture of Sam Fender in the nude

2) Bible

3) Film camera with unlimited film to document it

Is there anything specific inspiring you to create right now?

Looking at how other photographers have bounced back after lockdown is inspiring. Looking at the fresh content, seeing people push themselves more then they did prior to everything is inspiring. Also looking at my old content from a year ago and realising how far i have come inspires me to push myself further!

Thanks so much to Tara for answering our questions! Follow Tara over on @endoffilm and @thatdweebtara to see more of her work and future endeavours.
